Gratton et al. (2023): HIP 59173 is a close binary, although the companion was not detected in interferometry; this could be the substellar companion detected by Gratton et al.
An additional candidate companion star was found 139 AUs away but its nature seems not compatible with an M-star with a mass of 0.41 MSol since its mass is too small to account for the large observed proper motion anomaly.
